Hi! I’m Nikhil Permaul, the creator of World for Design.

Growing up in East London, I have always been surrounded by a variety of cultures and ways of life - which consequently has led me to see the world through multiple different perspectives. At the moment, I am currently studying BA Product and Furniture Design at Kingston School of Art, which has been an amazing opportunity for developing my skills and knowledge within design, as well as helping me to find my feet within the design community.

Created in 2025, the idea behind World for Design came from my want to utilise my love of design, world cultures and travel as a means of creating a difference in the world. Global issues are something I am passionate about, and as a creative I feel as though it is my job to inspire others to create a difference in the world and give people a light through design. I believe we can always learn more about ourselves from those around us, and World for Design aims to create a space and community which allows us to understand more about the world from often under-represented communities.
